Programme Outlines: 

ILM Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers

This programme aims to provide practising and potential Team Leaders and First Line Managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as workplace coaches as part of their norma work role.

Programme requirements

  • Guided learning is 24 hours
  • Assessment is through: a short work based assignment and completion of a reflective coaching diary.

Contents include:

  • Understanding good practice in workplace coaching
  • Organising workplace coaching
  • Undertaking supervised coaching in the workplace

    ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring in Management

 The Certificate aims to provide practising managers with the knowledge skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal work role.

Programme requirements:

  • Guided Learning is 45 hours
  • Assessment is through: work based assignment and completion of a reflective coaching/ mentoring diary.

Contents include:

  • Understanding how management coaching and mentoring can benefit individuals and organisations
  • Reviewing own ability as a management coach or mentor
  • Undertaking management coaching or mentoring in the workplace

 ILM Level 5 Diploma for Professional Management Coaches and Mentors

The Diploma is aimed at participants who will be significantly involved in management coaching/ mentoring within an organisation or as a freelancer. The programme aims to provide practising managers with the knowledge skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal work role and aims to equip participants seeking to move into a development role within their organisations or to freelance as a management coach or mentors.

Programme Requirements 

  • Guided learning is 65 hours
  • Assessment is through: work-based assignment, coaching/ mentoring diary and personal development plan, learning log and reflective review

Contents include:

  • Understanding how management coaching and mentoring can benefit individuals and organisations
  • Reviewing own ability as a management coach or mentor
  • Undertaking management coaching or mentoring in the workplace
  • Undertaking an extended period of management coaching or mentoring in the workplace
