Programme Outlines:

 ILM Level 2 Award in Team Leading (Also available as part of a Modern Apprenticeship in Management ALL staff )

A practical first qualification for employees with responsibility for achieving results through others. Designed for Team Leaders this concise qualification is designed to give learners a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and responsibilities of a team leader and the limits of their authority and accountability. 

Who should take this programme?

New or aspiring Team Leaders or established Team Leaders wanting to refresh or update their skills and knowledge.

Programme requirements

  • The programme lasts for 22 hours
  • Assessment is dependent on the units taken and can include a choice of: Reflective reviews, short answer questions, case studies, work-based assignments, oral briefings or centre-devised alternatives

Content can include:

  • Developing yourself as a team leader
  • Workplace communication
  • Providing quality to customers

ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading

Build and broaden the skills and knowledge gained in the Level 2 Award Programme (please note it is not necessary to undertake the Award programme first) Practical techniques in motivating teams, plus planning and monitoring their work are explored within the additonal units of this larger qualification..

Who should take this programme?

This programme is suitable for established and new Team Leaders as well as those aspiring to the role of Team Leader.

Programme requirements

  • The programme lasts for 65 hours
  • Assessment is dependent on the units taken and can include a choice of: Reflective reviews, short answer questions, case studies, work-based assignments, oral briefings or centre-devised alternatives  

Content can include:

  • Developing yourself as a Team Leader
  • Motivating the work team to perform
  • Planning and monitoring work
  • Fulfilling customer requirements
  • Workplace communication

Team Member Development Award

This programme provides an opportunity for Individuals to consider their personal contribution to their teams and to develop the related skills and knowledge.

Who should take this programme?

Individuals who would like to understand how teams operate and what contribution they can make to an effective team.

Programme requirements

  • The programme lasts for one day.
  • There is no formal assessment, however, those attending will gain an ILM Development Award

Contents include:

  • aspects of successful teams
  • dealing with difficulties
  • teams and teamwork.

ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management (Also available as part of a Modern Apprenticeship in Management for ALL staff)

Highly practical and flexible this programme is designed to improve performance in the organisation through a strong focus on the skills, knowledge and understanding required to be effective as a First Line Manager.

Who should take this programme?

This programme is most suitable for new or aspiring first line managers and supervisors and established managers wanting to refresh or update their skills and knowledge.

Programme requirements

  • The programme lasts for 34 hours
  • Assessment is dependent on the units taken and can include a choice of: Reflective reviews, case studies, work-based assignments, oral presentations, knowledge reviews, role play/ scenarios or centre-devised alternatives.

Content can  include:

  • Solving problems and making decisions
  • Planning change in the workplace
